How does a person choose their career? Do they stumble into the first opportunity they see? Do they follow their passion? Do they experience a calling? Of course, the answer to every question is yes and no. Though the career choice is based on the individual, some overlapping factors influence the decision. Some people are fortunate to find their interests and aspirations without any difficulty. Others tend to take a few more tries before their find their path. However, there is a third and most mysterious category of all. These are individuals who have a calling and cannot avoid it. As a triumphant member of this group, I know about the pull and the inability to escape this call.

An employment opportunity is a source of livelihood for most people. However, studies state that people tend to be more successful and happy if they have a vested interest or passion for their jobs. Unfortunately, a fair percentage of the employees need a stable job to support themselves and their families. However, they do have the scope to experiment and identify their place in the career pyramid. When I began my career in Bharti Airtel Limited, I also started my experimentation with marketing. As a millennial, I was pretty aware of the significance of the internet and the online forum. Though I was introduced to digital marketing much later in life, I grew up knowing that this would would be critical part of marketing. The dependency on this medium, even for trivial tasks, was a blatant reality of the future.

As a sales executive in one of the foremost telecom companies, I had an opportunity to interact closely with the consumers. This gave me a first-hand experience of knowing and understanding the customer’s expectations. This was also the period when people were gradually migrating into the online period. My career provided me with the necessary resources to comprehend the communication channels between the company and its potential target group. It pushed me to look at the broader perspective of the marketing arena. I was able to witness the evolving expectations from the customer’s side. As a salesperson, I closely connected with the marketing team, identifying and experimenting with various techniques to retain and expand their customer base. My first job was an eye-opener in more than one way.

I moved on to Quikr India Pvt Ltd as a senior key account manager. After that, I utilised my proficiency in the online marketing medium to join digital marketing agencies such as Babble Networks and Digital Mantraas.

My passion in these sectors motivated me to develop an in-depth comprehension of the marketing mediums. Every medium has a unique influence on the consumer profile. Some people assume that the traditional mediums have become redundant owing to the digital marketing medium. Though there are specific differences, we cannot completely ignore the benefits of online and offline marketing. Every company requires a solid plan comprising of both sectors. Though there are numerous promotional mediums, all brands have the liberty to pick and identify. As a marketing expert, I help my clients formulate the right and most effective plan to give maximum results.

When we generally speak about digital marketing, people talk about the website, social media and even search engine optimisation. We do not think or consider digital advertisements due to the lack of awareness in the sector. One of the notable aspects of these mediums is accountability. All online platforms are equipped with a stringent metric measurement system. This allows the companies to measure their results and invest accordingly. This was also the period when business owners were highly sceptical about the medium. This challenged me to master the nuances of the segment to excel in my career choice.

Marketing is an ever-expanding segment where newer mediums are identified regularly. I was fascinated by the extensiveness of the sector and its ability to transform the company’s outlook. Instead of resisting its allure, I embraced the medium and improved my skills. I joined various courses to develop my expertise in the segment. This, coupled with my work experience, improved my proficiency in the arena.

My job experience allowed me to understand the significance of the marketing mediums. Though companies are immersed in various operational avenues, a solid marketing plan is critical for their development. It is highly improbable to sustain without this plan. Most brands have a dedicated team or person to handle their promotional campaigns. However, some of these resources are oblivious to the big picture. It is pretty natural for people to focus on the current challenges faced by the organisations. It might not be entirely wrong to focus on sales of a product or service. However, it is dangerous to avoid or ignore the allied segments. Experts segregate the marketing medium into three unique categories – branding, marketing and sales.

My years of experience and thirst to learn about the segment have motivated me to launch my firm. Every company requires a robust online and offline presence to sustain and grow in its field. However, some companies do not understand the true sense of the medium. However, they know that the significance of the segment, they tend to search for campaigns within their limited budget. 

Sometimes, they tend to invest in the wrong medium at the wrong time. However, extensive research shows that time and positioning are crucial factors for success in marketing campaigns. 

I am launching this blog to accord my experiences and proficiency with business owners. Marketing might seem like a large ocean with endless possibilities. However, it is essential to make the right choices to guarantee success. I do not believe in creating campaigns and posts for clients in all mediums. Instead, I believe in choosing suitable mediums so that the companies can stay connected with their potential target group. I envision to help businesses reap the true and complete benefits of the marketing mediums. Though people are willing to take the big step and invest in various promotional mediums, they often do not have the proper guidance. As the leading marketing specialist in the industry, it is my responsibility to help consumers position their companies at the right place in the right time.
